Mullah Abdullah bin Shaikh Saleh as-Samahiji al-Bahrani

On 9th of the Islamic month of Jamadi as-Sani in 1135 AH, Mullah Abdullah bin Shaikh Saleh as-Samahiji al-Bahrani, passed away in Behbahan, southern Iran, at the age of 48. He was born in the village of Samahij on Muharraq Island, in Safavid-ruled Bahrain, and was a follower of the Akhbari theological school.
Among his teachers was Sulaiman Abdullah al Mahuzi. After the 1717 Omani invasion of Bahrain, as-Samahiji migrated to Iran where he briefly served as Shaikh ol-Islam in the Safavid capital, Isfahan.
He is the compiler of the two books of supplications attributed to the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (AS). He titled his works “Sahifat al-Alawiyya†and “Sahifat as-Saniyyahâ€.
