Supreme Cultural Council
Supreme Cultural Council coordinates all the cultural activities and formulates the basic cultural policies of Astan Quds Razavi with the cooperation of the 16 cultural organizations affiliated to it. The cultural organizations carry out their activities in three fields of research, education and publication. In the constituent universities and pre-university colleges of Astan Quds Razavi about 10000 students are pursuing their studies. The research organizations has so far published more than two thousand titles of books in various subjects and some of the titles have won the "Book of the Year" awards.
Cultural and Social Organizations
After the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Astan Quds Razavi gained the rare distinction of rendering great and multifarious services in the cause of propagation of the Islamic culture and the sciences of the Holy Ahlul Bayt (A.S.). It was successful in expanding the religious, worship and cultural places to provide the necessary and required facilities to the respected pilgrims of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.). It has implemented necessary measures in reviving and developing the endowments and pious dedications and fulfil the will of the bequeather in the endowment deeds.
Islamic Republic of Iran after twenty five years of incessant struggle, resistance and sacrifices was able to attain its rightful place in the international arena and everyday we are witnessing the amazing progress made in the political, cultural and economic fields. By the grace and help of Hadrat Imam Ali bin Musa ar-Reza (A.S.) and a special favours of Hadrat Wali-e Asr Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his glad reappearance), the wise and tactful leadership of Imam Khomeini (R.A.) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Hadrat Ayatollah al-Uzma Khamnaee, the ceaseless efforts of the officials and the resistance of the Muslim nation at various junctures of the history has been successful in attaining this progress and development.
Islamic revolution in Iran is passing through its third decade after its historical victory and now Islamic Republic of Iran is marching ahead to establish a new society which will emerge as a shining model for the world to follow by successfully implementing its fundamental and infra-structural programmes. During this period Astan Quds Razavi under the able administration of Ayatollah Waiz Tabasi, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Khorasan province and the reverend chief custodian of the holy shrine has witnessed great and extensive development and progress in all the fields of activities and has played an important role in the development phase of the country. During the last twenty five years the activities of Astan Quds Razavi has increased and expanded to greatest level that quantitatively and qualitatively it cannot be compared with the progress attained by the holy shrine during the last many centuries.
Astan Quda Razavi has endeavoured to protect and develop the endowments and implement the will of the bequeathers. It has to a great extent fulfilled the needs of the society and the pilgrims of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.) in particular. It stresses on the cultural affairs as its primary duty which is performed by four assistance offices under the supervision of the deputy custodian of the holy shrine like the Sacred Places and Protocols Assistance Office, Support and Planning Affairs Assistance Office, Properties and Estates Assistance Office, Technical and Endowments Development Assistance Office, 16 cultural and social organizations under the Supreme Cultural Council of Astan Quds Razavi and the Economic Organization.
