Physical Training Organization of the Astan Quds Razavi

The glory, dignity, and power of the Islamic community originate in the security of the individuals' soul and body. The Holy Quran appreciates and glorifies the power and dignity of Muslims and Beleivers.It has been emphasized in the Holy Quran that the whole heart is in fact the assistant of the healthy body. Struggling against sadness and laziness is the most important condition of conquering the enemies, and this is the main advice which has been stressed in the Holy Quran.
Ayatullah Waiz Tabasi-the Grand Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi-, in one of his speeches, said:
"Sport must be done with the objective of spreading the culture of altruism, holy war, and chivalry."
Astan Quds Razavi,paying due attention to this remark and taking into account its personnel's need for sporting spaces and facilities , has taken important measures to invest heavily and notably in providing and establishing welfare and sporting facilities during the recent years with the objective of achieving its divine and lofty Islamic aspirations.
The Physical Education Institution was established in 1995 according to the directions of the Grand Custodian, and with the objective of perpetuating, and improving these efforts.

The following is a list of the activities, pursued by this institution:
Providing and constructing sporting spaces.
Organizing teams.
Holding various sporting-cultural competitions, seminars and festivals.
Providing necessary sporting spaces for students and personnel's children to fulfill their time during the summer.
Organizing educational classes in coordination with the Center of In-service Training in this regard.
Publishing books and magazines about the activities of the institution.
Taking necessary measures to achieve the envisioned objectives of the institution.

Sporting Activities of the Management
Constructing Swimming-pools for men and women.
Organizing the Traditional Sports and Championship Wrestling Club.
Organizing the Wrestling Club.
Organizing the Martial Arts Club.
Constructing the Sporting Complex of Imam Reza (A.S).
Organizing the Bicycle Club.
Organizing the Football Club.
Organizing the Women's Sports Club.
Organizing the Volleyball Club.
Organizing the Climbing Club.

Cultural Activities of the Management
Holding different educational classes in the fields of Quranic Sciences Including: reciting the Holy Quran, and teaching its tenor besides the other sports.
Holding various sporting-cultural competitions, seminars and festivals.
Holding Mourning Ceremonies on different religious occasions (- the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (A.s)-), in the Covered Stadium of Martial Arts with the participation of sportsmen and sportswomen.
Establishing Congregational Prayer in the field houses.
Holding special religious ceremonies on the birthday anniversaries of the Holy Imams (A.S) in the Complex of Traditional Sports and Championship Wrestling.
Introducing the sporting facilities of the institution to the various groups of pilgrims and the citizens of Mashhad with the cooperation of the P.R.O of Astan Quds Razavi.
Providing and distributing tracts, brochures and special sacred parcels, containing clay disc and prayer-mat, among the visitors of the institution who come to the holy city of Mashhad from different provinces of Iran.
Distributing cultural books and brochures among the Arab pilgrims invited by the Cultural Management of Astan Quds Razavi to come to this institution and use the men's swimming-pool.
Printing the slogan (the Prayer is First) on the sportswear and sacks granted to the teams and also to the students participate in the classes of training swimming and soccer sports.
Establishing Congregational Prayer and calling to prayer in the Sporting Complex of Men.
Encouraging and persuading the students of Theological Schools to do sports with the objective of getting familiar with these sports and improving their health.
Physical Training Organization of the Astan Quds Razavi has also constructed many fully equipped multi-purpose sports complexes like stadiums,gymnasiums and swimming pools in the city of Mashhad.The sports facilities developed by the Astan Quds Razavi is the largest non-governmental sports facilities in Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic countries.
The manager of Astan Quds Razavi's Physical Education said : " 14 new sports were added to the present sports facilities of this department .
Jamshid Mehryar , the manager of Astan Quds Razavi's Physical Education Department , in an interview with our reporter ,said : " 10 women sports , and 4 men sports have been added to the previous sports of this department. It is worth mentioning that this department enjoyed only three women sports in the last year, including a physical fitness sport and two kinds of martial arts" .
He added : " About 14000 athletes mode use of Astan Quds Razavi's sporting facilities . In this year , two field houses ( covered stadium ) – with an area of about 1500 sq.m each , four sports enjoying special gallery , and also the succer field of 30000 – spectator stadium were put into operation by Astan Quds Razavi" .
" Winning a gold medal in the Country's Karate Championship Competitions , achieving the Championship Cup in the Country's Labour Volleyball Competitions among the Volleyball clubs of Mashhad , are some of successful steps taken by this department in this year" . He added .
Mr. Mehryar reminded that this management has held different swimming classes for girls and boys in the swimming-pools of Astan Quds Razavi in this year . He added : " The necessary facilities for using the court of the Men Beach Volleyball , have been provided , and put into operation by this department.
