Ziarat-e-Arba’yin

Ziarat-e-Arba’yin is an excellent memoir of Imam Sadiq (A.S.). Every lover of the 14 Sinless Personalities recites it as an obligation on 20th Safar, the 40thday of the martyrdom of Imam Husain (A.S.). Two abstracts from this ziarat are as follows:
1. “O God! I bear witness that Imam Husain (A.S) has triumphed through Your Noble Grace. You ennobled him with martyrdom and You made him auspicious and You distinguished him with the purity of descent .You made him an Imam from the noblest of men, and a pioneer of leaders and a protector of the protectors of truth. You granted him inheritance of the divine prophets and You made him Your authority for guidance of mankind from their successors.
So he (Imam Husain) invited people and did not leave any excuse for any of them nor did he withhold his kindly advice from them. He sacrificed his holy blood in Your path, to relieve mankind from ignorance and bewilderment of groping in the dark. The Imam was opposed by people who were deceived by this world and had sold their charming lives at the lowest price and had bartered their eternal Hereafter for an extremely great loss. They transgressed and ruined themselves with their carnal desires and earned Your wrath and the wrath of the holy prophet (S.A.). They obeyed Your servants, the hypocrites and war- mongers loaded with weighty sins which shall certainly lead them into hell.
So he (Imam Husain) waged holy war against them patiently obeying You for the welfare of mankind until his noble blood was shed on the ground (of Karbala) and the veneration of holy family of God’s best messenger (S.A) was thereby disregarded (by the enemies of God).”
2. “I bear witness that you (Imam Husain) have been light in your noble ancestors and chaste mothers untouched by the pollutions of the era of ignorance, and you were never dressed in the dark gloomy robes of the pre- Islamic times of ignorance.” (Mafatihul Jinan)
Note: some opportunists accepted Islam to get hold of power and wealth. These hypocrites loved this world more than God, they were physically near the prophet (S.A) but spiritually they were far distant from him. Prophet’s Ahlul Bayt viz. Fatima , Ali , Hassan, & Husain (A.S) and Khadija (A.S) the first woman who accepted Islam, were really close to God and His messenger . God has said: “O the Ahlul Bayt! God has wished to keep away from you every impurity (physical & spiritual pollution) to purify you a thorough purification”.
When God has purified the fourteen Ma’soomeen, no one can excel them, therefore they are worthy of all love and obedience by the entire humanity for perfecting their conduct and character by purification from sins and crimes, although hypocrites and satanic politicians may not like it. It stands to reason to obey the Ahlul Bayt because the holy prophet (S.A) had not neglected his closest relatives, the ‘Ahlul Bayt’ who should be followed by all Muslims, as their way certainly leads to God and His paradise.
