The Fruit of Islamic Unity

In the opinion of Hazrat Ayatullah al-Uzma Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Islamic unity is an important religious duty. The necessity and importance of this unity gets more illuminated when we focus our attention towards fruits and blessings that come forth out of this unity of Muslims. When we take into consideration the gains that have been achieved by the world of Islam by way of unity it doubles its importance. For this reason, Hazrat Ayatullah Uzma Sayyid Ali Khamenei declares Islamic unity beneficial for the whole Islamic Ummah.

The Whole Islamic World can benefit from the Unity
There is no confrontation among us (Islamic countries) with regard to benefits. A common Islamic union, Islamic block is in the interests of all Islamic countries and it not particular to a single nation. The big Islamic countries also can be benefited by the Islamic union and equally it is true to weak, backward and small countries too. It is for the benefit of all and from every aspect it is beneficial for all. Then for whom it is detrimental? Who will be on the loser end by the unity of Muslims? The losers would the powers who intend to impose their filthy and abhorrent objectives upon Muslim nations i.e., America and political imperialism would be the losers. We have been inviting Muslim countries towards unity since the inception of Islamic Revolution. We have invited the Islamic countries of the region and small units towards unity. We have not told them that you should come for unity so that we are going to take advantage of it. We have always tried to maintain brethren and friendship with Islamic countries. It doesn’t mean that Iranian government or nation is specifically in need of alliance, instead the whole Islamic world is benefited with it.

The Dignity and Honour of the World of Islam Depends Upon Unity
One of the effects of Islamic unity is restoration of true distinction and identity and achievement of the status of Islamic Ummah at the global level as well as in the relations. The Islamic Ummah by virtue of its wide capacity and capability can play vital role in the global issues, while restoring and maintaining its unity, grace and determination.
"If the Islamic Ummah achieve its unity, if Islamic power shows itself accurately, if political independence and real independence achieve in these areas Economic, political and cultural domination and control of the enemy will be cut. These are not satisfied with this and try to make this not happen. They found a way to create controversy. Unfortunately, the disease has penetrated the body of the Islamic world."
The unity of Islamic world is a major objective and if this unity is achieved then of course the world of Islam besides achieving dignity and honour would be in a position to restore its authority over implementation of Islamic laws and it can be done. The governments and the nations both need to be provided help to this effect.
The governments too need to provide more help towards achieving this unity and harmony. If Islamic Ummah would be successful in restoring its proper authority in that case it will support these Islamic governments and will not let these Islamic governments to seek refuge in America or Britain because of their weakness and fear, as the Islamic Ummah would be at their back.
I think Islam is a great power in the world. Our population is more than one billion. If this population of one billion people would only maintain their friendly relations, about whom we don’t say that they should unite; absolutely, it can be said that they can play vital role in all global issues. Now if someone will try to create division in this great union, it is noteworthy. All the people need to keep a vigil over these elements and get them identified. In fact these are the elements, risen against Islam. Our slogan is “Islamic Unity’. I believe that this would be an initiative to this effect.

Sympathy of Nations - An Outcome of Islamic Unity
The other outcome and benefit of unity is mutual understanding, cooperation and coordination in order to resolve the general problems of Islamic Ummah. The unity and affection awakens the spirit of mutual cooperation among Muslims.
The first effect and outcome of Islamic Unity should be the feeling of mutual sympathy among nations in such a way that nations may shear each other’s happiness, grief, troubles and worries. If a nation calls for any help, other nations should rush to respond his call. This is our obligation and it will be fulfilled. This is the promise of God that we accept and believe in it. This is our faith that أ¦أ³أ‡أ،أ¸أ³أگأ¶یأ؛أ¤أ³ أŒأ³أ‡آھأ³أڈأµأ¦أ؛أ‡ أ‌أ¶یأ؛أ¤أ³أ‡ أ،أ³أ¤أ³آھأ؛أڈأ¶یأ³أ¤أ¸أ³آھأµأ£أ؛ أ“أµأˆأµأ،أ³أ¤أ³أ‡ “And those who strive in Our [cause], We will certainly guide them to Our paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right and without any doubt Allah will help Believers.â€‌29:69.

The Obligation of Clergy regarding Islamic Unity
There is always a pivotal and effective role of ulama and luminaries in all social movements particularly in reformative activities. The ulama use to play a pivotal role in Islamic unity, reformation and in remedial measures for the evils based on discord and division in Islamic society. That is the reason, Sayyid Ali Khamenei demands from the enlightened and committed intellectuals to eliminate anti-unity elements from the society with the help of their enlightening thoughts.

The Truthful Ulama and Personnel Need to Face Provocative Elements
Nowadays some people due to their narrow mindedness, ignorance and hallow pretext declare a large number of Muslims as infidels and their killings as lawful. These people consciously or unconsciously are busy in aiding and serving the interests of adultery, polytheism and imperialism. They call the reverence, devotion and veneration in the majesty of Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and Ahlulbayt (A.S), which is absolutely religiosity and respect towards religion, as shirk and kufr (infidelity). Although they themselves remain busy in serving the infidels and oppressors while supporting their loathsome objectives. The truthful ulama, the responsible and committed enlightened intellectuals need to confront this dangerous kind of affairs.
The Islamic Unity and its establishment is a definite obligation today and the cooperation and coordination of convicted and devoted scholars to this effect can prove effective in order to tread the way of progress and action. These two pillars of dignity and honour, resistance and confrontation against imperialism, as well as brotherhood and friendship and alongside it the third essential thing devotion and submissiveness in the presence of God will become the cause for acquiring dignity and honour for the contemporary Muslims as that of the time of advent of Islam Muslims achieved and in this way the Islamic nations who have been the victims of disgrace, abhorrence and backwardness from centuries will thus attain emancipation.
The religious scholars should not remain silent against the religious conflicts. The enlightened intellectuals should not be negligent in creating the ray of hope in the hearts of youth. The politicians and men of action should motivate the people to show their presence in the field and they should have faith in the people. The Islamic governments should strengthen the unity and mutual and relations and also utilize this real force against imperialists.
It is too unfortunate that the minds and writings of the Islamic thinkers that should have been utilized for the sublimity of standard of Islam, elevating the dignity and honour of Muslims, is being utilized for creating fuss, highlighting of controversial issues, igniting conflicts and creating division among Muslims. They accuse one Muslim while condemn other as infidel. The ulama have to play a vital role towards unity as well as for creating an atmosphere to this effect. The clergy of both the sides have to shoulder equal responsibility in performing this obligation.

Ulama need to bring Harmony and Conformity between the Views of Different Islamic Sects
One more obligation which bears the responsibility of Islamic Scholars and Intellectuals for making the Islamic unity into existence is based on the review, research and investigation of controversial issues of Islamic groups and sects. In this connection the academic discussions can prove effective in removing a part of misunderstandings and also culminate into unanimous views and mutual outcomes.
Today the imperialists and their hired agents in this Islamic region have put in use every kind of destructive means of propagation and communication to annihilate Islam and the unity - a preferred thing of Islamic system.
The ulama need to be cautious. They should be cautious about those fictitious and fabricated religions, which oppose unity. You need to be cautious about the petro dollars being spent for split and division. You need to be vigilant about these abhorrent hired agents who are craving for breaching the unity of Muslims (the Rope of God). You need to oppose them. It is a preliminary requisition and a means to tread the path of Islamic unity and it can’t be possible without this. The ulama need to endeavor for it. The Islamic jurists, ulama, logicians and philosophers need to interact and mutually evaluate and consolidate their views, so that the views of all the sects of Muslims can be presented in a consolidated form equally for all the Muslims. This is one of the most import jobs that can be expected, so that the individuals who are striving for it will make it to reach a successful end.
