Imamzadeh Yahya bin Zayd
Imamzadeh Yahya was Zayd's son and his mother name was Bibi Reeta bint Muhammad Hanafia. He was the grandson of Imam Zayn al-Abedin (A.S.). He was born in 107 A.H. / 725 A.D. As his life was threatened by Umayyads, he migrated from Karbala to Madaen and from there he went to Khurasan.
Finally he was martyred at the young age of 18 by the Umayyads in the year 125 A.H. / 742 A.D. After martyring him the Ummayads left his body without burying him but took off his head and later sent his head to his mother in Madinah. His body was buried near the Miami village in Khurasan.
The grand holy shrine of Imamzadeh Yahya bin Zayd is on the Sarakhs Highway, 50 kilometers away from the holy city on Mashhad, one kilometer to Miami village in a beautiful landscape. The holy shrine is visited every year by more than two millions Zaireen from Iran and around the world. The holy shrine of Imamzadeh Yahya bin Zayd have recently been expanded and renovated on a grand scale and necessary amenities have also been provided for the convenience of the Zaireen visiting the holy shrine.
The construction of the shrine of Imamzadeh Yahya bin Zayd dates back to the tenth century Hijrah/ sixteenth century A.D. belonging to the period of the Safavid dynasty in Iran.
