The Supreme Cultural Council of Astan Quds Razavi

I wonder if you agree with me about the fact that deciding, planning and adjusting the affairs has been a difficult task or not?! But certainly you agree with me that great cultural tasks require their time, energy and specific management. I said the subject to inform you that there is a policy-maker institute in Astan Quds Razavi named the Higher Cultural Council that undertakes decision-making, planning and monitoring the cultural institutes of Astan Quds Razavi. In 1998, this Higher Cultural Council's secretariat has been established, but do not imagine that the chief of the Higher Cultural Council, the clerk and advisor and finally the clerk's deputy of the Council are the members who are decider and policy-makers. Except these three persons, who work on top for the council, three cultural- artistic, educational-research and Islamic publicity groups work in the form of the secretariat experts. Each group follows the projects and plans related to the institutes in the framework related to their group with a chairman.
The purpose of forming the council system is policy-making, planning, adjusting as well as developing the activities, and also propagandizing and exalting the culture and high Islamic values in Astan Quds Razavi Complex. The Higher Cultural Council is the mastermind, designer, theorist, and also the leader of the activities in the various cultural parts of the blessed threshold of Imam Reza (A.S.). In the council, the famous persons of the center of religious teaching and university gather together that the Grand Custodian presides over the council to consider the methods of transferring message and giving them to the subgroup institutes for implementing by considering the new scientific and effective ways in a specific space.

The importance of culture is an inevitable subject to everyone. Similarly, we have to observe this as a main precedence. After the Glorious Victory of the Islamic Revolution, all fields have undergone massive changes especially in science, culture and art, thus, research activities were diligently generated more and more. For this reason, Astan Quds Razavi has considered the Islamic doctrines propagation as its main purpose. As Astan Quds Razavi has ascribed to Imam Reza (A.S.) and also has backgrounds for 1200 years, as well as various equipments, this organization has accomplished considerable activities to achieve these goals more than the other institutions. From the very first days after the glorious Victory of the Islamic Revolution, this organization planned progressive projects in different institution of Astan Quds Razavi in the fields of research and training under the supervision of the Great Custodian (Ayatollah Waez Tabasi) and finally could achieve this main purpose. It is necessary to say that Astan Quds before the glorious Victory of the Islamic Revolution, Astan Quds Razavi enjoyed only 3 limited and inactive cultural units including library, museum and the Department for Cultural Affairs. While these activities expanded by Astan Quds Razavi (after the auspicious event i.e. the glorious Victory of the Islamic Revolution) in all required fields of the society. Similarly, this department satisfied some cultural requirements for the Islamic Society by establishing different educational, research and publishing houses gradually. The old units i.e. library and museum departments were considerably expanded qualitatively and quantitatively and also some extensive cultural, educational and research centers were established so that thousands of students, theologians have started their study in the centers. Thousand of books were compiled and published and also some various scientific congresses and seminars were performed in different cultural institution in which the number of cultural, educational and research institution of Astan Quds Razavi have currently been increasing into 15 ones.
